Reservations and Scheduling
How do I book a session at the studio?
You can request a booking through our official contact form or by calling 011-850-6845. Please include your preferred dates, the specific service you require (such as vocal or instrument recording), and the estimated duration of the session. Our team will check the availability and typically respond within 24 hours.
Is a deposit required to confirm my booking?
Yes. To secure your time slot in the studio calendar, we require a deposit of 30% of the total estimated cost. This amount is deducted from your final invoice upon completion of the project. Payment details for the deposit are provided in the booking confirmation email.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made at least 3 days prior to the scheduled session date are free of charge. For cancellations made within less than 3 days, the deposit may be non-refundable. We ask that you notify us as soon as possible in case of emergencies or illness.
Can I extend my session on the day of recording?
Extensions are possible depending on the studio's current availability. However, if another client is scheduled immediately after your slot, we cannot extend the session. We recommend booking sufficient time in advance to avoid rushing. Extension fees are calculated based on the hourly rate of the chosen service.
Session Workflow and Logistics
What should I bring to the studio session?
Please provide demo recordings or guide tracks on a USB drive or via a cloud link before the session. You are welcome to bring your own instruments, specific microphones, or headphones if you have a preference. Our studio is equipped with large-diaphragm condenser mics, near-field monitors, and professional acoustic treatment.
What is the minimum age for studio use?
For safety and liability reasons, clients under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian throughout the session. Clients aged 16 and older may use the studio independently.
How many people can record simultaneously?
Our studio has a maximum capacity of 6 people at one time. If your group exceeds this number, we can suggest a recording plan that involves splitting the session into smaller groups or sections. Please inform us of your group size during the booking process.
Can I request a specific engineer?
Yes. You may request our Chief Engineer, Mana Kimura, or our Recording Engineer, Mio Nakamura. We will confirm their availability for your requested time slot during the booking phase.
Files, Formats and Delivery
In what format will my audio files be delivered?
We primarily deliver high-resolution WAV files. MP3 exports can also be provided upon request. If you have specific requirements for the sample rate or bit depth (e.g., 48kHz/24-bit), please notify us before the session begins.
Do you provide multitracks or stems?
Yes. We provide all individual recorded tracks (multitracks) and the necessary stem files for mixing. This ensures that you have full control over your recordings if you decide to perform further editing at another facility in the future.
How many revisions are included in mixing and mastering?
For our mixing and mastering services, we include up to 3 rounds of revisions free of charge. Requests for a fourth revision or significant structural changes to the arrangement after the initial mix will incur additional fees.
How long do you store my recording data?
Timolabaadvisory maintains a project archive for 12 months following the completion of the session. Data older than 12 months is deleted to manage server capacity. We strongly advise all clients to maintain their own secure backups of all delivered files.
Rights and Legal Matters
Who owns the rights to the recorded audio?
The rights to the recorded audio (the master) are fully transferred to the client once 100% of the service fee has been paid. The studio will not publish or use the recordings for secondary purposes without explicit written consent. Please see our Terms of Service for more details.
Does the studio handle copyright registration?
No. The registration and management of copyrights (including applications to organizations like JASRAC) are the sole responsibility of the artist or the rights holder. Our role is to provide technical production services; we do not act as a legal representative for copyright filings.
Can I record cover songs at your studio?
Yes, you can. However, if you intend to use the recording for commercial purposes (distribution or sale), you must ensure that the mechanical and performance rights for the original composition are properly cleared. The studio accepts no liability for copyright disputes resulting from the recording of cover songs.
How is my personal information handled?
Your name, contact details, and email address are used exclusively for booking management and invoicing purposes. We do not sell or share your data with third parties. Detailed information can be found in our Privacy Policy.
Payment and Invoicing
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank transfers and credit card payments. Individual clients typically pay the deposit at the time of booking and the remaining balance upon the conclusion of the session.
What are the payment terms for B2B clients?
For corporate clients and production companies, we offer an invoicing system with a payment term of 14 days from the date of the invoice. If you require alternative payment arrangements, please discuss this with us during the initial consultation.
Do the listed prices include tax?
